MusicsWeek: How did you get started in music?
Jeffley: My passion for music came from watching my friend's brother doing a high school talent show. From there I started writing music and building a passion for it.
MusicsWeek: Who are your biggest musical influences?
Jeffley: My biggest music influences are. Ebk jaaybo, lil baby, nle choppa, khailani, paygotti, Chris brown, eze, snoop, slump god
MusicsWeek: How do your personal experiences shape your music?
Jeffley: I put my feelings into my songs and the way life goes, so does the music.
MusicsWeek: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
Jeffley: I enjoy working out in the gym and spending time with my friends when I’m not in the studio.
MusicsWeek: Have you ever been influenced by a particular era of music (e.g. 80s, 90s)?
Jeffley: The 2017 era was my most influential music era because that’s the era that really shaped the way I portrayed my music and related to the most
MusicsWeek: Do you have a favorite instrument or instrument family (e.g. guitar, piano)?
Jeffley: I used to play guitar, so that’s my favorite instrument.
MusicsWeek: What inspires your songwriting? Do you draw from personal experiences or fictional stories?
Jeffley: Random ideas or things I hear or see are what inspire my music…I used to just write just to write and throw it out if the song sounded cool and rhythmic, but I write what’s real now.
MusicsWeek: How do you prioritize feedback from fans and use it to inform your creative decisions or future projects?
Jeffley: I don’t use my fans to decide what I do or not do. Negative or positive feedback, I don’t care. I’m here to do me and me only.
MusicsWeek: Can you tell us about a particularly challenging time in your personal life, and how music helped you cope?
Jeffley: I had a time in my life when I was just angry about life. Nothing seemed as if it was going for me and anything I did would come back in a negative way/aspect. But when I sat down and just wrote what I was feeling and what was going through my brain it took me away from reality and in a safe space where I could think properly, and really collect myself. I used to take my anger out on things and people, whether that was breaking walls or throwing random objects and destroying things or whether it was snapping at people who were just trying to be nice, or pointing out small details about people that annoyed me. But I saw that doing that wasn't doing anything for me, so I just focused that anger towards music.
MusicsWeek: How do you typically come up with ideas for new songs or projects?
Jeffley: Music ideas come a lot from hearing. Say if I heard a song that I really liked then I would take the aspirations from that song and make one of my own. Or say I hear someone say a random line in a conversation they're having. And if my mind says that “line” has potential, I take that and expand it into art. Etc. Other times I just freestyle and make some up and put meaning behind it.
