R&B singer Pariz Noir draws listeners with a steady beat and strong vocal performance on latest single, “Save Yourself.”

“Save Yourself” tells the tale of a lover who realizes they are the toxic one in the relationship. It begins with soothing instrumentals and light vocals. As the beat picks up, Pariz Noir launches in, verse by verse, crafting a story. She skillfully pairs a variety of vocal stylings with a simple, catchy beat to capture her audience. As Pariz Noir sums up, “The hook tells listeners to ‘save yourself’ because the narrator knows ‘I’m the toxic one and can’t supply what you deserve.’”

“It’s basically about a toxic relationship where one person falls deeper for the other person,” explains Pariz Noir. “The other person, as much as they love them, just doesn’t fall the same way. It’s a song about healing and recognizing when you still have work to do.”

“I wrote it about a special person and a situation I was going through at the time,” she adds of the heartfelt song. “If you relate to it, great. If not, I hope you just enjoy it in general. My music is made with a lot of love and thought process. I don’t just go in there and write whatever random thing pops up because it’s cool. I really do sit down and follow through with every step of the process, from writing to picking the instrumental to singing in the studio. My music is dear to me and if you enjoy it, that’s more than enough for me.”

Pariz Noir’s writing process revolves around her first encounter with a beat. “If I hear a beat I really love that sticks with me, I’ll start experimenting with melodies—see what can stick and feels right. My rule of thumb is if a melody sticks out and goes on in my head over and over again, then I’ll start writing from that point forward.”

Hailing from Colombia, Pariz Noir was raised mostly in southern Florida. Music has always been her calling in life. “I’ve always been more on the artsy side of things. I didn’t have it in me to become an accountant or doctor. The arts and music always came so easy to me, and I enjoyed doing them.” Another of her singles, “Skin on Skin,” quickly gained steam, demonstrating Pariz Noir’s musical talents.

Living in anonymity is enjoyable to the artist, who would rather be known for her music. While she tends to keep aspects of her life private, Pariz Noir has reached a point in her life and career where she wants to help those who can relate. “I’m a queer woman,” she shares. “For a while now, I’ve been sort of anonymous, but it’s time to share that.”
