Music's Week Staff: Who are your biggest musical influences?
Kupid:
My biggest musical influences are the following : Young thug, Pharrell, and XXXtentacion. I admire how they all push boundaries and received just as much negativity as they had positivity for it. However, they’re all now kept in high regards.

Music's Week Staff: When/How did you become interested in music?
Kupid:
I became interested in music because I found my talent out at an early age through instruments such as the guitar, piano and drums. Since then, music has yet to escape me.

Music's Week Staff: How does this song "Ok Wait" differ with your previous songs?
Kupid:
“Ok wait” as compared to my previous songs is a presentation of my sound(s) I’ve been crafting for the past few years. Before I was bouncing off of many sounds and I wanted to have a solidified, consistent timbre.

Music's Week Staff: What skills/personal attributes are most important to being successful?
Kupid:
Being persistent, headstrong and confident are crucial attributes to have when traveling down the path to success. You’ll receive a hell of a lot of no’s along with a hell of a lot of yes’s and you need to be prepared for when you receive either.

Music's Week Staff: How important do you think video or other visuals are to your music?
Kupid:
I think that visuals are necessary when you release music because fans need a scenario/setting to immerse themselves in while enjoying the track.

Music's Week Staff: What do you hope to achieve with your art?
Kupid:
I hope to first and foremost achieve happiness with my art, both for myself and for my fans. Music is a freeing element of life and should be treated as such.

Music's Week Staff: What advice would you give to new artists entering the industry today?
Kupid:
It’s 100% cool to have artists to look up to and bite off of, but don’t take half the cake with you. Build your OWN unique sound because the industry is already so flooded with wannabes. I challenge you to reach within yourself for inspiration before you reach for others.

Music's Week Staff: What sets your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon, about your sound and style?
Kupid:
What sets my music apart from the underground scene is the fact that the majority wants to lean on autotune and other huge autotune artists. I’ve been crafting a no-auto sound, but still dabbling in auto so I can expand my bag when need be. What immensely sets me apart is the fact that I make sure to mention my life which inspires me, such as pop culture, anime and fashion. Those are lyrics you can find in my raps.

Music's Week Staff: Has your music career/journey had a deliberate direction, or did it simply evolve organically?
Kupid:
My music career evolves deliberately and organically. I know exactly the vision I want to promote while in one stage of my career, while I continue to experiment with music to make sure nothing is completely forced. In order to have longevity as an artist, it’s imperative to consistently reinvent yourself so your artistry doesn’t become stale.

Music's Week Staff: Where can potential fans find out more about you?
Kupid:
If fans wanna keep up on everything fly, they can follow me on my TikTok and Instagram @kupidrewskii. From there, they can access my website in my bio which contains my streaming pages, various interviews and collaborations. #flyshit
