Music's Week: What inspired you to become a musician, and what keeps you motivated to create music?

Har'Monique: I honestly just fell in love with the process of creating music so that alone keeps me motivated.

Music's Week: Can you tell us about your creative process? How do you come up with ideas for your songs?

Har'Monique: I don’t really come up with ideas for my songs I am just as blind as anyone else when I first start a new track I just listen to the music and depending on the sound that tells me what the song is going to be. I try not to put too much of myself into my music all I really need to do is listen to the music. And the songs basically write themselves.

Music's Week: How do you balance your artistic vision with commercial considerations? Do you ever feel pressure to compromise your style?

Har'Monique: I definitely try to tune out the outside noise when it comes to my music my style and my creative vision so I can make sure I am staying true to my authentic self. I am not easily swayed and if the clothing/music video scenes pair well with the overall message of the song then I’m going to perform it to the best of my abilities.

Music's Week: What do you hope listeners take away from your music? Is there a particular message or theme you're trying to convey?

Har'Monique: The message or theme definitely varies with every track. I am working on producing a large body of work that has something for everyone while also expressing my direction as an artist but as I said there isn’t really and overall message but I do try to make happy feel good dance music for the most part as well as uplifting inspirational music.

Music's Week: Can you walk us through your songwriting process? Do you typically start with a melody, lyrics, or a chord progression?

Har'Monique: First I go online and look for a sound that speaks to me. Then the rest just starts to flow after melody and then lyrics. But the sound tells me if it’s going to be a dance song a love song a breakup song or sad song or an inspirational song.

Music's Week: How do you stay inspired and avoid writer's block? Do you have any rituals or habits that help spark creativity?

Har'Monique: This is funny no real rituals or habits I just listen to the music if I’m bored that’s when I’m usually trying to create to keep myself entertained and with that I will just go beat shopping and when I find a sound that resonates with me I will sit down and write to it.

Music's Week: What do you think sets your music apart from others in your genre? What unique qualities do you bring to the table?

Har'Monique: Honestly I have no idea. My mission isn’t really to compare myself to others but to stand out as an individual through the fun creative sounds that I look for and try to bring to the forefront in a unique way.

Music's Week: Can you tell us about your favorite song or album that you've released? What makes it special to you?

Har'Monique: I think that this album I am working on is probably my favorite if I had to choose just because it is my self titled album and my 7th written in chronological order but the first one to be officially released because I think it definitely captures who I am as an artist the most.

Music's Week: What's next for you creatively? Are there any new projects or collaborations in the works that you're excited about?

Har'Monique: I am working on my album right now and no I do not have a features or collabs in my albums I am hoping to do more collabs with clothing designers and things like that but as far as music I’m focused on making sure I perfect my sound as an artist first before inviting others in.
