The Stewarts: We got started in the Music Business by our mother, Corinne Stewart, who sang Gospel Songs with Sam Cooke in the 1950’s.
MusicsWeek: What inspired you to become a musician?
The Stewarts: Our mother Corinne Stewart encouraged us to become musicians by encouraging us to watch the Jackson 5 on the TV.
MusicsWeek: Can you tell us a bit about your background?
The Stewarts: We had music and vocal teachers in the 1970’s. We performed at local Night Clubs & local Churches.
MusicsWeek: What's your biggest passion outside of music?
The Stewarts:Our biggest passion is – “The Love of God” & “The Love of the Family”.
MusicsWeek: How would you describe your musical style?
The Stewarts:We describe our music style as Christian Pop mixed with R&B, & the Sound of the Jackson 5, and the Silvers Music Group.
MusicsWeek: What's your favorite song to sing along to?
The Stewarts:Favorite Songs: Del’s favorite songs – (‘The Jackson 5’, ‘I Want You Back’, ‘ABC’, ‘Love You Save’, ‘I’ll Be There’); and Garry K’s favorite songs – (‘Amazing Grace’, & ‘Precious Lord’).
MusicsWeek: How did you get started in the music industry?
The Stewarts: We got started in the Music Industry by our mother back in 1975.
MusicsWeek: What's the best advice you've received about the music industry?
The Stewarts: Best advice from us – be very loyal to your craft, you’re only a failure when you give up, treat others how you would like to be treated.
MusicsWeek: Have you ever collaborated with another artist or producer on a song, and what was that experience like?
The Stewarts: We collaborated with a Producer named ‘Shad O Shay’ on our song in the 1980 called ‘Get Down, Get Down’. We learned about horns and strings arrangement. It was a very good learning opportunity.
MusicsWeek: How do you engage with your fans online and offline? Do you have any favorite social media platforms or strategies for connecting with them?
The Stewarts:We engage fans through ‘Face Book’, ‘YouTube’, and ‘Spotify’.
