Exclusive Interview with E'MAJOR

MusicsWeek: Can you tell us about your musical journey? What inspired you to become an artist?

E'MAJOR: Watching the musical greats like Michael Jackson, Stevie wonder, R&B/hip hop greats, highlife greats, Raggae greats, classical music great etc, helped to inspire me.
 
MusicsWeek: How would you describe your music style, and what influences your sound?

E'MAJOR: My musical style is called Afro fusion , because it is a fusion of all the genres I’ve had the opportunity to be influenced with.
 
MusicsWeek: Can you share the story behind your single "Bolo"? What themes or messages do you explore in it?

E'MAJOR: Bolo actually came up after the producer came up with the beat and it really drove everyone one bunkers, then  vibing to the beat the words came one line after the other.
 
MusicsWeek: What is your songwriting process like? Do you have any specific rituals or routines?

E'MAJOR: My songwriting ritual is fluidity and staying on the cutting edge.. i sometimes get songs in dreams, sometimes, vibes or just a melody or harmony can trigger creativity , sometimes just writing with others
 
MusicsWeek: Who are some of your musical idols or inspirations, and how have they shaped your artistry?

E'MAJOR: 
I’ve looked up to Michael Jackson, boys2men, Joe, Stevie wonder, James brown and so many other highlife/ reggae musicians like bob Marley etc their sound, writing, vocal delivery/ adlibs and instrumentation have shaped my artistry.
 
MusicsWeek: How do you handle creative blocks or challenges in your music career?

E'MAJOR: 
Doing other things unrelated to music almost always and always helps to give new inspiration or perspective, also writing/ collaborating with other creatives helps as well.
 
MusicsWeek: What role does collaboration play in your work? Are there any artists you dream of collaborating with

E'MAJOR: 
Collaboration is pivotal for more exposure, more creativity and a harmonious synthesis.
 
MusicsWeek: How do you connect with your audience, both in live performances and through your recorded music?

E'MAJOR: As a guitarist it helps during live performances to channel emotions from a vocal and musical instrumentation perspective.
 
MusicsWeek: What impact do you hope your music has on listeners? Is there a message you want to convey?

E'MAJOR: I hope to continue making songs that encourage my listeners to be happy, to dancing and to be inspired in life.
 
MusicsWeek: Looking ahead, what are your goals for your music career in the next few years? Any upcoming projects you’re excited about?

E'MAJOR: I’m looking forward to selling out tickets of E’major’s performance in venues like 02 arena, New York and around the globe. I’m also looking forward to releasing my first album sometime next year.
