Dame Dash is dealing with another legal challenge brought by filmmaker Josh Webber, who now claims the Roc A Fella co founder sabotaged a $10 million deal he had secured to direct and produce a film titled TORN. According to AllHipHop, Webber has also named Dash’s company, The Dash Group, which he runs alongside his girlfriend Raquel Horn. He alleges that Dash’s public remarks about their ongoing dispute scared off investors who were previously committed to the project.
In the most recent complaint, filed Monday in federal court in Los Angeles, Webber points to statements Dash made in October, when he threatened to pursue a civil RICO case against him. Webber attached an email from a woman identified as Tina Parmar, who wrote that one of the film’s backers demanded Webber be removed after reading coverage about Dash’s threat.
Webber argues that Dash’s implication that he was connected to a criminal enterprise was “false and defamatory,” adding that Dash “knew [it] was false when he made it,” according to Complex.
Dash has already lost multiple lawsuits to Webber connected to the film Dear Frank. Their conflict first erupted in 2022, when Webber sued him for defamation and copyright infringement. He accused Dash of walking away from the project and attempting to repackage and sell it under a different title while presenting himself as the director.
In 2024, Webber filed another suit, claiming Dash’s heated commentary about the case on the Earn Your Leisure podcast cost him a role on the film Fast Life. With Dash still navigating bankruptcy proceedings, he has reportedly not fully satisfied the multimillion dollar judgments tied to those cases.
Amid the mounting legal and financial pressure, Dash attempted to set the record straight earlier this year during an appearance on The Breakfast Club. That appearance quickly went sideways, sparking a tense exchange with Charlamagne Tha God that spread widely across social media.
