Get comfortable and step inside because it is time for a house tour.
On Wednesday, April 1, Sabrina Carpenter surprised fans by releasing a teaser for the upcoming music video for her Billboard Hot 100 hit “House Tour,” taken from her Billboard 200 No. 1 album Man’s Best Friend. She also confirmed that the full video will arrive on Monday.
In the short clip posted on Instagram, Carpenter is seen behind the wheel of a pink van with actresses Margaret Qualley, who is married to “House Tour” producer Jack Antonoff, and Madelyn Cline riding along. While their final stop is not revealed, the teaser strongly suggests the trio are planning some mischief. As they travel, a radio broadcast can be heard advising residents to secure their homes.
“It’s a not so pretty evening on Pretty Girl Avenue,” the radio voice says. “Reports of robbery and theft are sweeping the neighborhood.”
The announcer then describes the alleged culprits as “three young women in minimal clothes” who are considered “armed and dangerous.”
As the warning ends, the three women arrive at their location. Carpenter turns off the vehicle and Cline asks an important question: “Should we go in the backdoor?”
“No,” Qualley and Carpenter answer at the same time. Fans will quickly recognize the playful nod to the “House Tour” lyrics, “I just want you to come inside/ But never enter through the backdoor.”
Even though the teaser was released on April Fool’s Day, Carpenter reassured fans that the announcement was real. “No joke…house tour video this Monday,” she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.
The timing of the video is perfect as it arrives just before Carpenter’s first of two scheduled headlining performances at Coachella, which begins Friday, April 10. Watch the full “House Tour” teaser below.
