Jack White Announces Discounted £20 Tickets for Students

Jack White has introduced reduced ticket prices for students attending selected concerts on his upcoming UK and Ireland tour. Read the details below.

The musician begins his UK and Ireland tour supporting ‘Frozen Charlotte’ at London’s Eventim Apollo tonight, August 25. White has now revealed that a “limited number” of student tickets priced at £20 or €20 will be offered for the London and Ireland performances.

“These tickets can only be purchased in-person at the venue’s box office on show day, and will be sold on a first come, first served basis with a valid student ID,” White wrote on Instagram yesterday.

Each valid student identification card can be used to buy a single ticket. Additional details can be found through the individual venue websites.

The concerts support ‘Frozen Charlotte’, the seventh solo studio album from White. In its three and a half star review, NME said the record “may not rank among his classic work but it’s good fun”. The publication continued: “It’s gonna really be something live, and it works to show that White doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel when he can give you one hell of a ride on his own.”

In other recent performances, White invited The Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson onstage in Chicago to perform Free’s 1969 song ‘I’m A Mover’. He also played three White Stripes tracks with his daughter Scarlett during a Brooklyn concert.

Meanwhile, Jack White’s Third Man Records has revealed plans for several temporary shops throughout the UK and Ireland. The locations will offer exclusive records, limited merchandise, posters and books, along with several homemade “bootleg” versions of his releases.
