Exclusive Interview with TheMahfuzR

TheMahfuzR: When I realized how much I enjoyed it - it took me to a different world and my singing was appreciated by my listeners as they saw that I gave it my all.
 

TheMahfuzR: When an artist feels the music, enters a different world and is able to produce a song or an instrumental piece with the utmost passion that speaks his or her soul.

MusicWeek Staff: What have been the greatest challenges of your career so far?

TheMahfuzR: Time by far and also funding. Family life, job took priority but I still kept my singing active on the side, performing in cultural functions, etc. 

MusicWeek Staff: Describe your experience recording the song "Photograph Book"?

TheMahfuzR: It was wonderful. I took the original song written by a friend of mine a long time ago and made the necessary edits to the lyrics and the music to my liking. I gave it my very best and  I've received very encouraging reviews.

MusicWeek Staff: How did you describe your process of creating "Photograph Book" compared to your other song?

TheMahfuzR: I didn't create Photograph Book but I edited it quite bit to my liking.  My other song that's still in the works is created by me and is very different in the story, music and tempo. Photograph Book is about romance but my other song is

MusicWeek Staff: What was the creative approach for this new video?

TheMahfuzR: I don't have a video yet, only a cover page but I do have a plan for a video.

MusicWeek Staff: Do you take the context of the song in consideration when creating the video? Why/Why not?
TheMahfuzR: When I will create the video, it'll definitely reflect the context of the song as that'll paint the picture the song portrays.
 

MusicWeek Staff: Does your music fit in to your local scene? If so, how do you take advantage of that? If not, do you see that as an obstacle and what do you do about it?
TheMahfuzR: My music is more pertinent to the 80's style and that could be an advantage as it's different from a lot of the current style or an obstacle as it may not be common to some of today's listeners. The way to overcome that is to promote it nicely and it is a very nice song and can relate to all ages.
 

MusicWeek Staff: If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom t the next musical generation, what would it be?
TheMahfuzR: Do what your heart tells you.  Follow your passion and remember, you can't please everyone.  There will be negativities thrown at you.  Pick out some hints from those if possible and apply it if you can. Create to please yourself - that way you'll do you best.
