MusicWeek Staff: Who are your biggest musical influences?
BANA
my biggest musical influences are the same people who taught me how to speak english from such young age. I grew up listening to many different genres and languages when it came to music and my favorite was obviously pop the greatest pop artists keep inspiring me every single day. beyonce , whitney huston , MJ , The weeknd, One direction , Adele, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Billie eilish … etc

MusicWeek Staff: When/How did you become interested in music?
BANA
my love for music is indescribable, ever since i was a very little girl i’ve been singing for my family and my friends. was never shy to sit everyone down and give them a mini concert at home. and obviously it grew with me as if music is the foundation of my being. that is why i cannot imagine my life without music and singing.

MusicWeek Staff: How does the song “TANGY” set the stage for more songs from you?
BANA
TANGY is an introduction to BANA, and we chose to start with that song because its one of the first tracks we ever wrote with my producer and songwriter. it is very dear to me because it gives you a sense of what is coming next. colors vocals and exotic fearless sounds. we have worked on many different genres that we cannot wait to release and let people enjoy just like how we’ve been enjoying them for the past year privately.

MusicWeek Staff: What skills/personal attributes are most important to being successful?
BANA
practicing and polishing your natural talents is crucial for being great at what you do. and obviously having fun with it and carrying determination to get what you wanna get in life. all that with close people who support you and love you through it would be the perfect mix in my opinion.

MusicWeek Staff: How important do you think video or other visuals are to your music?
BANA
visuals have always been super important to me, because I remember I’d discover my favorite songs through its music video and rewatch for a 100 times. and personally I’m still looking for the right people to turn my imagination into reality.

MusicWeek Staff:  What do you hope to achieve with your art?
BANA
love. it’s the intention and drive behind everything i do in my career and life. I want to make my inner child proud and future self grateful also inspire people as i do what i love.

MusicWeek Staff: What advice would you give to new artists entering the industry today?
BANA
even though it looks like i am a new artist in the west and i am don’t get me wrong, I just have been singing for 6 years now professionally and i do have experience with it all but in a different language which is my own Kurdish. i’d tell the new artists that are just starting to surround themselves with genuine people who truly want the best for them. and then focus on the pure talent that they were given, what they wanna say through their music. what their message is. to not forget about themselves as people and not get lost trying to find success.

MusicWeek Staff: What sets your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon, about your sound and style?
BANA
I’d say i’m more real than uncommon, i would like to set an example for people that no matter who they’re they can make it. no matter how crazy and big their dream/idea is they still can achieve it. my music is different because i am not scared of being different. i never put my art in a box, i don’t have rules for music and creativity and say what is on my mind and heart.

MusicWeek Staff: Has your music career/journey had a deliberate direction, or did it simply evolve organically?
BANA
a mix of both, when i think about my life it truly does feel like a movie. it happened organically at first when i got exposed to the world at the age of 16 and then after that reality hit me and i started looking at it more seriously than just a hobby. and eventually with planning and the right direction after 6 years i am in london perusing my childhood dreams.

MusicWeek Staff: Where can potential fans find out more about you?
BANA
