MusicWeek Staff: What was the defining moment when you knew you were meant to create music?
Kayleigh Walker: From the moment I sang along and danced around in my bedroom to the my walkman when I youngster to the moment I put pen to paper 5 years ago. I got this overwhelming adrenaline like feeling that is hard to explain but its a feeling that keeps me focused and knowing creating music is on my pathway.
MusicWeek Staff: What are the essential qualities that make a good artist?
Kayleigh Walker: Staying true to yourself and remembering where you came from and what got you into being an Artist in the first place. Staying unique humble and being real and seeing the passion alive to inspire others through your music and lyrics.
MusicWeek Staff: What have been the greatest challenges of your career so far?
Kayleigh Walker: Getting my music out there has not been a bed of roses but overcoming every obstacle that’s arrived I’ve turned negative into a positive and is made me work harder and made me more me than ever before.
MusicWeek Staff: Describe your experience recording the song "Psychedelic"?
Kayleigh Walker: Nothing but hard work and lots of creative fun but the process was just as crazy and weird as the song.
MusicWeek Staff: How did you describe your process of creating "Psychedelic" compared to your other song?
Kayleigh Walker: Every song is a different process so it’s hard to explain the process sometimes you have no idea how and why it happened that way its just something that happens when you’r being creative.
MusicWeek Staff: What was the creative approach for this new video?
Kayleigh Walker: For me it was getting the creative team to get inside my head and get this 60s trippy video to really reflect the song in a futuristic manor, which I believed really catered that.
MusicWeek Staff: Do you take the context of the song in consideration when creating the video? Why/Why not?
Kayleigh Walker: Yes in around about way and why because it’s important to get the visual to match the songs vibe without being to0 obvious for me I didn’t want any elements of a typical Trip but more of a lucid dream state more than anything else.
MusicWeek Staff: Does your music fit in to your local scene? If so, how do you take advantage of that? If not, do you see that as an obstacle and what do you do about it?
Kayleigh Walker: No not all and I don’t see it as any obstacle as my music can relate to every scene and person individually.
MusicWeek Staff: If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom t the next musical generation, what would it be?
Kayleigh Walker: Be creative and have fun be unique and don’t follow trends be your own trend.
