With a career spanning over four decades, Sade Adu is one of the most beloved and decorated female vocalists of her time. The lead singer and namesake of legendary British band Sade, Adu has serenaded music fans to the tune of numerous hit records, many of which have transcended generations while standing the test of time.
Born on Jan. 16, 1959, the multi-time Grammy Award winner and her bandmates released their debut album, Diamond Life, in 1984, which was followed by their sophomore effort, Promise, the following year. Releasing six studio albums in total, including Stronger Than Pride (1988), Love Deluxe (1992), Lovers Rock (2000), and Soldier of Love (2010), Adu and Sade have sold more than 75 million records worldwide and continue to tour the globe to this day.
