Within a week of its release, “Stupid Hip,” the first song ever put out by SoManyDollaz, the track was blowing up on social media in the West Coast rap world and had thousands of plays and streams.

It was not luck or an accident. It was the product of hardwork, planning and confidence with his craft.

It is “a catchy dance song,” said SoManyDollaz (Lance Coleone Edwards). “People can have a good time and dance to it. I want them to just vibe off of it.

He is 16 years old and has been making music since he was 11. The artists he regards as influences are NipseyHussle, Roddy Ricch, Future, and Rich Homie Quan.

Two years ago, when he was 14, he began taking his rap seriously, and since then he has been working, preparing to step into the world as a serious, professional artist.

During those two years, he recorded at Redy Set Studios in Hollywood,California. Working through BandLab, he wrote and recorded more than 200 songs to develop his sound and get ready for his professional debut.

“My sound is really versatile,” he said. “I got hip-hop, I got R&B, I got pop. I can do anything.

His work ethic and discipline are just a couple of the things that sets him apart from artists his age.

“I want my name to be mentioned in the same sentence as the greats and legends. I know that requires a lot of hard work and sacrifices, but I’m willing to do the work.”

“Stupid Hip” is his opening statement. Almost immediately after its release, SoManyDollaz was published on multiple popular LA instagram blogs.

The marvel was that this is his first release. But the work went into it beforehand.

He has another 50 songs, including two EPs, one of which is ready to go when he decides the time is right. Another single will be first, a dance song called “Let’s Go.”

“It will be more of a party song,” he said.

For now, the focus is on “Stupid Hip.”

“We don’t want to drown it out by dropping 50 songs all at once,” he said. “We’re going to go step by step, introducing one song at a time and build the anticipation.”
