Music's Week: Describe your experience recording the song "Beautiful"?
Sydney B: It was really fun but also challenging because it was a difficult song to sing at the time for me vocally. I really love it because that message speaks to me because it talks about problems I struggle with but also problems I think a lot of others do to so I hope it helps people realize their beauty and maybe even their purpose and the fact that they're not alone.

Music's Week: How did you describe your process of creating "Beautiful" compared to your other song?
Sydney B: I wouldn’t say beautiful was different, I would say it was the start of what became my voice and what I want to focus on but the process was pretty much the same as other songs by finding a beat, writing lyrics, recording, etc.
Music's Week: What was the creative approach for this new video?
Sydney B: I actually did not know what the storyline was going to be until right before. I had an idea but I wasn't sure what the actual plan was. The director was amazing and had this incredible storyline which was relatable to me due to the audition process I go through often but also it's easy to understand what the message is through that.

Music's Week: Do you take the context of the song in consideration when creating the video? Why/Why not?
Sydney B: Yes I do, I believe the video should correspond with the meaning of the music to give people a better understanding of your music. Also, some people are visual and some people are audio learners so by having a video representing the meaning of the song might help more visual learners understand better the meaning of the song, or at least my intended meaning because songs can have different meanings for different people I think.

Music's Week: Does your musical style align with the prevailing trends in your local music community? If it does, how do you capitalize on this connection? In case it doesn't, do you perceive this as a challenge, and if so, what strategies do you employ to address it?
Sydney B: I would say it aligns with some trends in the sense of how the beat sounds and things like that and the message is prevalent in some artists but I don’t think it’s prevalent enough. My goal is to create a sphere of positivity in the world with my music and voice which is where I may differ.
Music's Week: If you could pass on a nugget of wisdom t the next musical generation, what would it be?
Sydney B: Keep going, specifically don't let the words of others or the negative thoughts in your head define you and keep you from trying for your goals.
