Music's Week: What inspired you to become a musician, and what's your creative process like when writing songs?

SDBoomin and Globalqtheartist: Growing up I became heavily influenced by 90's r&b. My favorite group back in the day was H-Town. I loved the lead singer of the group, Dino. Listening to Dino and H-Town inspired me to want to sing and become a musician.

When I write songs I use a method that I call embellished reality. This method is where I listen to a track to see how the track makes me feel. Next, I come up with a keyword or a concept that I feel is suitable for the track. Next, I start mumbling melodies. This helps to build a skeleton of a song and from there I build out the song with clever lyrics to make the song interesting and colorful.

Music's Week: Can you tell us about your single U 2 Rare? What's new and exciting about this work?

SDBoomin and Globalqtheartist: U 2 Rare is a song about when you first spot that woman that stands out in the crowd and you know that she is the person that you want to shoot your shot at. The song feels so good. It has an infectious vibe that will put listeners in a great mood. The beat sounds fresh and new and it's an easy listen for those that want to have the song playing in the background while they have a conversation with friends or family.

Music's Week: Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your sound?

SDBoomin and Globalqtheartist: 90's r&b group H-Town, R Kelly, Bryson Tiller, Future. All of these artists were not only great artists but great songwriters & this is how I would like to be remembered.

Music's Week: What do you hope listeners take away from your music? Is there a specific message or theme you're trying to convey?

SDBoomin and Globalqtheartist: Hip Hop has been dominant for a long time. I'm hoping to revive R&B music as a whole and get the R&B genre back on top where it belongs.

Music's Week: How do you balance your creative vision with the commercial pressures of the music industry? Do you ever feel like you're compromising on your artistic integrity?

SDBoomin and Globalqtheartist: I think we are in a new era of music where authenticity wins. I make the type of music that I love to listen to. I believe that taking on this approach will maintain my artistic integrity because I'm always portraying my authentic self with each song that I do.

Music's Week: What's been your favorite part of your career so far, and what's been the most challenging?

SDBoomin and Globalqtheartist: The favorite part of my career so far has been collaborating with different producers and being able to mesh my style with the styles of different producers. The most challenging part has been adapting to the social media era of things. Its almost like now you have to come up with visual art to go along with your audio art. Audio art is second nature to me but visual art is still to this day very challenging for me. I'm still working on becoming more comfortable with this new era of music.

Music's Week: What's the story behind the title U 2 Rare? Is there a particular person or experience that inspired it?

SDBoomin and Globalqtheartist: U 2 Rare is a song about when you first spot that woman that stands out in the crowd and you know that she is the person that you want to shoot your shot at. Yes, There was a time when I was performing, andthere was a woman in the crowd that stood out to me and I knew I wanted to find a way to talk to her after the show was over.

Music's Week: How do you approach collaborating with other artists or producers on new music? Do you prefer working alone or with others?

SDBoomin and Globalqtheartist: In music unless you produce and write your own music then you're always collaborating. I'm a writer only so collabing with producers is easy for me but collabing with other artists can be challenging because you have to agree on common concepts to write about. One person can't write about being deeply in love while the other person writes about being deeply traumatized on the same song lol. I prefer working alone when I'm writing. I've been in situations where if there are too many concepts, ideas and melodies being thrown around in a session it takes far too long to nail down a good concept to write about.

Music's Week: What advice would you give to aspiring musicians who are just starting out on their own creative journey?

SDBoomin and Globalqtheartist: For singers I would say learn your musical style and create music that fits that one specific style. From what I am seeing in the industry now some of the largest artists sound the same or similar on a lot of there songs. This is no coincidence, they do this on purpose so that when their audience hears a new song by them they know immediately that this must be the new Weekend song, or the new Justin Beiber song etc.

Music's Week: Where do you see yourself in five years, both creatively and professionally? Are there any big goals or aspirations on the horizon?

SDBoomin and Globalqtheartist: In 5 years I see myself as an artist with 1 million monthly listeners on spotify. I can see myself as an artist that gets hit up for features from other artists and I can see some of my songs getting 250K streams or more!!!!
