MusicsWeek: Can you tell us about your musical journey? What inspired you to become an artist?
Jeryko: I started making music in high school with some friends and at an early age understood the power of music to connect people and create powerful experiences, I've been doing it ever since.
MusicsWeek: Who are your biggest musical influences and how have they shaped your sound?
Jeryko: I’m inspired by artists who bring real emotion and story to their music, doesn't matter what genre — I'll get inspired by Frank Ocean, Greenday and the Four Seasons in the same sitting.
MusicsWeek: Describe your songwriting process. Do you start with lyrics, melodies or a specific concept?
Jeryko: It’s never the same twice. Sometimes it starts with a melody I hum in the middle of the night, other times it’s a resonant lyric when something hits me or someone says something. But usually I like to build the vibe first—get the sound right—and then the words and the message follow.
MusicsWeek: Your single "Dreaming" has received a lot of attention. What themes or messages did you want to convey with it?
Jeryko: “Dreaming” is all about chasing something that feels just out of reach. It’s that mix of hope and frustration when you’re grinding for your dream. I wanted it to feel relatable to anyone who's ever felt stuck but still pushing forward and has big vision for their life.
MusicsWeek: How do you balance commercial success with staying true to your artistic vision?
Jeryko: I'll let you know when I have commercial success.
MusicsWeek: Can you share any memorable experiences you've had while performing live?
Jeryko: A moment that sticks out to me is getting the whole audience quiet at Music Hall of Williamsburg and seeing me cousin Ryan up on the second floor balcony and asked without a mic if he could hear me and he said "Ya love you man" and I gave back a "Love you too" and even though there were almost a thousand people there it felt like an intimate living room show.
MusicsWeek: How has your music evolved since you first started? Are there any particular moments or experiences that sparked this evolution?
Jeryko: I think my music is evolving along with me as a human and I hope it continues to. Hopefully the music is getting deeper, more compassionate, more understanding and more fun.
MusicsWeek: What role does collaboration play in your music? Are there any artists you dream of working with?
Jeryko: Post Malone and Forrest Frank.
MusicsWeek: In an age of social media and streaming, how do you connect with your fans and build your audience?
Jeryko: I use social media like I do texting and whatsapp. Just like talking to a lot of friends. Building community and staying in touch. I love when people send me funny reels and memes.
MusicsWeek: What advice would you give to aspiring musicians trying to break into the industry?
Jeryko: Have faith and have fun.
