MusicsWeek: Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got started in music?

Da Ko Ko Ko LaAa:
I used to be a small music promoter who liked the business, buying venues, promoting artists, and I built my own studio. I am more of a production guy, enjoy putting things together but got carried away with it.

MusicsWeek: Who were your biggest musical influences growing up?

Da Ko Ko Ko LaAa:
Dr. Dre, Snoop, Eminem, and someone who showed the way for people. Dr. Dre, though, is someone who is very talented in making things. Not saying Jay Z isn't, but Dre is someone who is beyond a promoter.

MusicsWeek: Was there a specific moment that made you realize you wanted to pursue music professionally?

Da Ko Ko Ko LaAa:
Not really. Like I said, I like putting stuff together, and music just happened to be that. It was a hobby to start with, but then I realized, why not put what I make out there? We have so much technology that you can "play" with anything, from instruments to software, and even A.I. is going large now. Who knew about even A. I. 5 Years ago.

MusicsWeek: How has your background or hometown influenced your sound and style?

Da Ko Ko Ko LaAa:
I grew up in Austin, Minnesota, born in Ukraine, Donetsk. They have no background on this stuff, this is more of when someone likes something, they constantly do it. You might like writing, and you write one page at a time. Eventually you realize you got a book, so what do you do next? Sit on it, or publish it?

MusicsWeek: What challenges have you faced as an artist, and how have you overcome them?

Da Ko Ko Ko LaAa:
I don't have them yet because I do my own research, looking into things. And when you are so-called smart, you realize that if you sell independently, big boys come to you and want to play. So then the question is, do you play with them big boys? - MAYBE

MusicsWeek: Can you walk us through your songwriting process?

Da Ko Ko Ko LaAa:
I am a poet writer. It's hard to write something new. Sometimes I scribble, stuff comes to my mind, I put it down, it makes no sense, yet I still do my thing, then I turn to lyricsstudio. I think it's good. I believe my talent is putting that music together. No matter how bad the lyrics might be. I think the music is at least good.

MusicsWeek: What’s the story behind your latest single?

Da Ko Ko Ko LaAa:
A friend gave it to me, cause I ran out of writing for the day "ha ha". It's another love song, sounds boring, I know. But, at least I enjoyed the beat making.

MusicsWeek: How do you balance staying true to your sound while keeping up with industry trends?

Da Ko Ko Ko LaAa:
I don't. I am not an industry type, even if a label came to me saying here is a million. I'd be like, well, there goes my freedom. I am me, and I might sound boring to a lot of people. Yet, I am someone who, even when I get annoyed, my interest is in making the next sound until I just stop.

MusicsWeek: What’s your favorite song you’ve created so far, and why?

Da Ko Ko Ko LaAa:
I like them all.

MusicsWeek: Do you have any rituals or routines when you’re in the studio?

Da Ko Ko Ko LaAa:
No. I don't have really. Sometimes, I just sit there for an hour or so, looking like a clueless individual, watching TikTok, and then thinking too much.
