Artist Spotlight: Brook Lynn

“Empty” is not just a song — it is an emotional experience. Netherlands-born artist Brook Lynn pours every ounce of her soul into this heartfelt track, delivering a stunning performance that blends vulnerability with vocal mastery. With a melodic guitar gently weaving through the background and strong, simple percussion guiding the beat, “Empty” is a sonic roller coaster worth riding. Her buttery riffs and impressive range transform the song into something that lingers long after the last note fades.

We caught up with Brook Lynn to explore the moments that defined their sound — and the vision that drives their next chapter.

MusicsWeek: What’s the concept behind your latest album?

Brook Lynn:
The concept behind my project is my experiences of growing up and living in the forest. (aka the woods)

MusicsWeek: Can you share the story behind your latest single?

Brook Lynn:
My latest single “EMPTY” is a note written from the people who give their all and receive nothing in return. It’s written to the people who know or might not know that they’re leaving their relationship on read with no response.

MusicsWeek: How involved are you in the creation of your music videos?

Brook Lynn:
Very my last video, I chose the locations and the concept. Which in turn made the video easy for the director to build from. I feel it was very special.

MusicsWeek: What’s your favorite music video that you’ve made and why?

Brook Lynn:
Well I would say my very first video “Ashes.” It was my first time in America and that on its own was already so special to me. Then when we reach the location everything that was plan had to be changed because we were locked out of the building. When we went around the building looking for alternative ideas we found a burned down building with nothing but ashes left. Which ended up being more perfect than we originally planned.

MusicsWeek: How do you decide on the visual theme for a music video?

Brook Lynn:
I usually have an idea of certain visuals as soon as I hear the music. I collectively discuss treatments with my team and what’s possible with our resources that are available.

MusicsWeek: What’s the most challenging part of translating a song into a visual format?

Brook Lynn:
Because of having so many ideas inside of your thoughts you want to put them all down. The director’s job is to usually find a way to turn those ideas into a story. This isn’t always easy to pull off.

MusicsWeek: Do you have a dream director or visual artist you’d love to work with?

Brook Lynn:
Dave Meyers. His concepts, color grading, and treatments are always thought provoking and visually stunning. Definitely top of my list.

MusicsWeek: Are there any upcoming projects or releases you’re excited about?

Brook Lynn:
Well I have a song titled “Waterfall” that I’m really excited about. I had so much fun recording it and challenging myself vocally. I think a lot of people will be surprised with this one.

MusicsWeek: How did the process of creating your latest project differ from your previous work?

Brook Lynn:
Well actually this is my first project. And I would say this has been a mix of difficult and creatively refreshing. That’s because we’re trying so many different ways to create that I’ve never done before but it’s also making me love this even more learning what my voice is capable of.

MusicsWeek: How does your latest project reflect your growth as an artist?

Brook Lynn:
Where I was a year ago I didn’t even have a song of my own to release. I was singing covers that related to me instead. Now I not only have my own original songs but also building a sound that I can call my own. “Tales From The Woods” will definitely tell the story of my growth inside of this journey.
