Morrissey has canceled two upcoming concerts in Mexico. One was set to take place last night at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, while the other was scheduled for Nov. 4 at Auditorio Telmex in Zapopan.
On Friday, the concert promoter shared a statement on Instagram announcing the last-minute cancellations, explaining that they were “due to the artist’s extreme exhaustion.” The message also noted that fans who bought tickets online would automatically receive refunds to their credit cards. Those who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster or at the box office can request refunds starting Nov. 7 at the original point of purchase.
A day later, following the promoter’s announcement, Morrissey’s official website posted a video for his song “I Know It’s Gonna Happen Someday.” The post was captioned with a string of Mexican flag emojis and the title of the 1992 track.
Longtime fans of Morrissey are well aware that concert cancellations are not uncommon for him. Earlier this year, he called off a show in Stockholm, Sweden on the day of the performance, citing difficulties securing support from the music industry to complete his European tour. In September, he also canceled shows in Boston and Connecticut after receiving what was described as a “credible threat” to his life.
As of now, Morrissey’s next scheduled performance is on Nov. 8 at Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina, followed by additional dates across South America through the end of the month. His current tour itinerary also includes a Dec. 12 performance in Greece to close out 2025. He will then return to the United States in January for a run of shows beginning Jan. 3 in Rancho Mirage, California, and finishing Jan. 22 in Hollywood, Florida.
