Gracie Abrams, Halsey, and several other major artists have joined New Yorkers in celebrating Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the 2025 mayoral election.

Following the Democratic Socialist’s win over Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa on Tuesday night, a wave of celebrities took to social media to share their excitement and congratulations.

Abrams posted several reactions on her Instagram Story, writing that she was “screaming” and adding, “I keep getting chills over and over.”

Halsey shared her joy on X, posting, “I just got off stage from an amazing show and Zohran Mamdani is mayor of New York and I am not gonna be able to sleep, I’m too alive!”

Lorde also joined in, uploading a New York-themed image on her Story with the caption, “Change… Have a nice day,” and tagging Mamdani’s account.

All three singer-songwriters currently live in New York City, which turned out in large numbers for Mamdani, with more than 1,036,051 votes cast in his favor, according to The Associated Press.

Other musicians showed their support in the comments section of Mamdani’s Instagram posts — Clairo added a fire emoji, and Lizzy McAlpine wrote, “Yayyyy.”

Rachel Zegler commented, “He’s home!” while King Princess added, “I think we should throw a party?”

When asked to sum up his campaign using three songs, Mamdani chose Only the Young by Taylor Swift, Hate It or Love It by The Game featuring 50 Cent, and Right Above It by Lil Wayne featuring Drake.
