Justin Bieber is officially joining BTS, Shakira and Madonna as a co headliner for the inaugural FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, FIFA announced on Wednesday (July 8).
The Canadian superstar will make his first major live appearance since headlining Coachella in April when he takes the stage with the previously announced performers at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, during halftime of the World Cup Final on July 19. The event marks FIFA’s first ever Super Bowl style halftime production, with proceeds supporting the Global Citizen Education Fund to help improve access to education and soccer programs for children around the world.
“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can,” Bieber said in a statement. “I’m grateful to be part of this halftime show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world.”
The halftime lineup will also feature Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel, the Muppets and the PS22 Chorus with Coldplay. The entire production has been curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
With the championship match approaching, eight national teams remain in the race for the World Cup title. Morocco, France, Norway, England, Spain, Belgium, Argentina and Switzerland are all still in contention.
Music has played a major role throughout this year’s tournament since it began in June. Opening ceremony performances featured Katy Perry, BLACKPINK’s LISA, J Balvin and several other artists. FIFA also released an official soundtrack for the competition that includes Shakira and Burna Boy’s Billboard chart hit “Dai Dai,” along with new music from 21 Savage, Latto, The Rolling Stones, Jelly Roll, Future, Tyla and more.
“We are proud that extraordinary artists such as Justin Bieber and Coldplay are joining us,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino said in a statement. “Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel and the PS 22 Chorus will play a key role in conveying a powerful message of peace, unity and hope to billions of people worldwide. As the world unites for the most significant football match in history … this groundbreaking spectacle, brought to life through Chris Martin’s creative vision, will celebrate football, music and our shared values, ensuring a legacy that transcends the final whistle.”
Bieber released two albums in 2025, Swag and Swag II. Swag debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while both projects produced multiple Billboard Hot 100 hits, including the chart topping favorite “Daisies,” which peaked at No. 2.
