Charli xcx has set a new Official Charts record, becoming the first British female performer to earn two fresh Number 1 albums during the same calendar year. Her eighth studio release, Music, Fashion, Film, leads this week’s ranking, following Wuthering Heights, which topped the chart in February 2026.
The success of Music, Fashion, Film gives Charli her fourth UK Number 1 album. Her earlier chart leaders include CRASH from 2022, BRAT from 2024, and Wuthering Heights from earlier in 2026. This milestone puts her alongside a select collection of musicians who have landed two UK Number 1 albums in one year, including British legends The Beatles, David Bowie, Elton John, and Ed Sheeran, plus global solo stars Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Diana Ross.
Music, Fashion, Film has found success beyond the main albums ranking, reaching Number 1 on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart after selling more vinyl copies than any other release during the past seven days.
Elsewhere inside the Top 5, Snow Patrol return near the top of the chart with their 2006 record Eyes Open, which climbs back in at Number 4 following the arrival of a special 20th anniversary edition. The album also leads the Official Record Store Chart after becoming the most purchased LP at independent record shops throughout the UK this week.
Shania Twain collects her seventh Top 10 album as her seventh studio release, Little Miss Twain, enters the ranking at Number 7. New York indie rock group The Strokes also earn their seventh Top 10 album, with Reality Awaits arriving at Number 8 as they celebrate 25 years since releasing their debut record Is This It.
London rapper Nines enters the Top 40 with Lost Tapes at Number 14, while the project also takes first place on the Official Independent Albums Chart. Meanwhile, Luke Combs returns to the ranking at Number 31 with The Way I Am, coinciding with his headline performances at Wembley Stadium during his My Kinda Saturday Night tour.
