Frankie Valli addresses rumours about his retirement

Frankie Valli has rejected reports suggesting that he is preparing to retire from music.

The Four Seasons singer celebrated his 92nd birthday earlier this year and recently called off the rest of his 2026 concerts so he could prioritise his health.

The confusion began last week when his brother, Bobby Valli, announced on social media that the Four Seasons star was ending his career.

Sharing a photograph of the brothers taken in 2025, Bobby wrote on Facebook: “MY BROTHER FRANKIE WHOM I AM SO PROUD OF AND LOVE HIM DEARLY. HE HAS HAD A WONDERFUL LIFE A DREAM COME TRUE. HE IS AN INCREDIBLE SINGER. HAS HAD AN MAGNIFICENT CAREER IN MUSIC AN ICON A LIVING LEGEND. HE HAS MILLIONS OF FANS WHO LOVE HIM DEARLY.”

After celebrating Frankie’s accomplishments throughout his career, Bobby finished the message by saying: “HE WILL NOW RETIRE.”

Frankie later contradicted his brother’s announcement, telling followers on his Instagram account: “In spite of what you might have heard, I am not retired.”

Bobby subsequently published a correction on Facebook, saying: “I apologise, I was misinformed. I was under the impression my brother Frankie was retiring. Hoping for him to have a speedy recovery. to continue his illustrious career!”

Before cancelling the dates, Valli planned to continue his farewell run, ‘The Last Encores Tour’, which launched in 2023 and was scheduled to continue through November.

In an announcement issued earlier this year, the ‘Grease’ singer explained: “I’m so sorry to disappoint the folks who have purchased tickets to my shows, but I have decided to take the rest of the year off from touring to focus on my health.”

“I’m looking forward to getting healthy and seeing you all again soon,” he added. “Thank you for all your good wishes.”

His pause from the stage comes two years after he publicly responded to worries surrounding his condition. Those concerns emerged after videos appeared to capture him using prerecorded vocals while struggling to keep pace with the music.

In other news, Valli was one of the performers honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the Grammys’ Special Merit Awards last year, recognising his major contributions to the music business.
