Watch Post Malone Put His $2 Million ‘Magic’ Card Into Play

Post Malone has surprised and delighted Magic: The Gathering fans by using his enormously expensive The One Ring card in an actual game.

The musician reportedly spent $2 million, around £1.5 million, to acquire the card in 2023. Its remarkable value comes from being completely unique, with only one copy ever created. A fortunate player from Whitby, Ontario, discovered it randomly three years ago.

Post Malone had seemingly stored the collectible somewhere secure since purchasing it. During a recent episode of The Command Zone’s Game Knights, however, he astonished the other participants by removing the card from its “obnoxious” protective case and placing it directly onto the table.

You can watch this jaw-dropping moment below.

Once Post Malone puts the custom card into play, surprised cohost Rachel Weeks explains why it is so important. “For those who didn’t hear about The One Ring somehow, this is the rarest, most exclusive card ever printed in Magic history,” she says. “There’s one of this. It should be in a museum or in a vault.”

Fellow host Josh Lee Kwai admits that he feels “very concerned” about the musician using The One Ring because “our insurance doesn’t cover that card”.

Post Malone has supported Magic: The Gathering for many years and regularly works with Wizards of the Coast to publicise the trading card game. He bought The One Ring from Brook Trafton in 2023 after the Canadian retail employee discovered it entirely by accident.

Trafton said at the time: “I have played MTG since I was a kid and obviously it would be amazing to keep this card. But for a guy like me, being able to sell it is life-changing. I just really hoped it would go to someone who would appreciate it as much as I do.”
