Viral TikTok Mashup Got Britney Spears & Ginuwine Back on the Charts

Britney Spears and Ginuwine have given us some timeless hits, including Britney’s 2003 gold-certified “Toxic” and Ginwuine’s 1996 debut “Pony.” While many never imagined hearing both songs blended together, twin(!) DJ duo ALTÉGO envisaged the possibility and gave us the greatest mashup we never knew we needed: “Toxic Pony.” Boasting over 8B+ video views and  2.7M creations to date on TikTok, the infectious remix inspires creators to show off their sultry moves with a dance routine by creator @benibol. ALTÉGO’s TikTok success translates beyond the platform – two weeks after its official release on streaming platforms (over 7.7 million Spotify streams to date), the mashup saw Billboard chart milestones for both the duo and Britney Spears. Debuting at no. 25 on the Hot R&B chart and no. 7 on R&B Digital Song Sales Chart, the song marks ALTÉGO’s Billboard debut and Britney Spears’ first placement on the R&B chart. The song also landed the Grammy-winning pop star her first Billboard chart placement in more than half a decade.
