Blueface faces growing lawsuit debt tied to Soulja Boy’s child’s mother

Blueface continues to deal with lingering legal problems after his release from prison, and that is before even touching on his ongoing relationship drama. Some of these issues, however, have unfolded beyond his control, including a default judgment filed against him by Jackilyn Martinez, the mother of Soulja Boy’s child.

For context, during the rappers’ heated online feud in 2023, the California artist publicly alleged that Martinez’s two year old child with Soulja Boy was actually his. Martinez responded by filing a defamation lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court in December of that year, and Blueface’s failure to respond ultimately led to a default judgment being entered against him.

The initial judgment totaled $123,245, which included $100,000 for emotional distress. According to MyNewsLA and newly reported court documents from Martinez’s legal team, accrued interest has since raised that amount to $131,655 as of Wednesday December 24. On that same day, her attorneys reportedly submitted writs of execution to sheriffs in both Los Angeles County and Sacramento County.

Earlier this month, Judge Peter Hernandez reportedly ruled that the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers along with BMI must redirect any royalties collected on the West Coast rapper’s behalf to Martinez until the judgment is fully paid.

Blueface is said to have not yet settled the debt, with his time behind bars significantly complicating his ability to do so. Whether that changes anytime soon remains to be seen.

Martinez previously stated that she has not had an intimate relationship with him since 2018. “As a result of [his] wrongful conduct and the defamatory statements, I have [suffered] and continue to suffer severe emotional and mental distress, including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, (and) crying spells,” she wrote in an earlier declaration.

Blueface’s arrest in January of 2024 reportedly made it more difficult for him to manage the lawsuit filed by the mother of Soulja Boy’s child. While that context offers some explanation, it did not excuse his lack of response in court, nor has it stopped the financial penalties from continuing to pile up.

It remains unclear whether Soulja Boy will respond publicly to the situation or choose to stay silent. Given the intensity of their previous social media exchanges, it would not be surprising if tensions flare up again.
