Barry Can’t Swim has returned with a brand new single, ‘Return To Bhibo’, delivering a vibrant summer soundtrack that you can listen to below.

The new track arrives today, Friday May 29, and serves as some of the first fresh material released by the Edinburgh born producer and DJ in 2026.

Right from the opening moments, the song carries a sense of euphoria and emotional intensity, showcasing the same infectious qualities that helped establish Barry Can’t Swim as one of the most exciting names in modern dance music.

The release of ‘Return To Bhibo’ follows a busy period for the artist, including major appearances at the US festivals Lightning In A Bottle and Movement last weekend, where he also began teasing new music.

Earlier this year, the Scottish electronic artist revealed his own instalment in the ‘Late Night Tales’ series and released the accompanying track ‘Chala (My Soul Is On A Loop)’.

The compilation series first launched in 2001 and has welcomed an impressive list of curators over the years, including Four Tet, Fatboy Slim, Belle & Sebastian, MGMT, Metronomy, Franz Ferdinand, Jon Hopkins and Hot Chip.

His contribution, released as part of the series’ 25th anniversary celebrations, arrived in March and featured several original recordings, including ‘Sometimes I Feel So Alone’.

Barry Can’t Swim released his second studio album, ‘Loner’, last year. The record featured singles including ‘Still Riding’, ‘The Person You’d Like To Be’, ‘Different’ and ‘Kimpton’.

The album followed his 2023 debut LP ‘When Will We Land?’. Discussing the project in a press statement, the producer explained: “If my first album was a collage of all the music I loved and was inspired by growing up, then this album is the most authentic expression I could offer of myself and my life over the past year.”

He also curated his own stage takeover at All Points East in 2025, assembling a line-up that featured performances from Orbital, Avalon Emerson, The Blessed Madonna, Confidence Man and Shygirl.
