Pop Rapper CPTime Packs in Clever Punchlines, Unstoppable Energy in Latest Single, “Home”

DOUGLASSVILLE, PA - With more than 100 songs on streaming platforms, CPTime may be the best-kept secret in the music industry.

Born and raised outside the City of Brotherly Love, CPTime is not your “typical” rapper. He did not grow up in the ’hood or hustle on the streets.

“When I started doing rap and hip hop, I wanted to speak to a bigger audience,” explained CPTime. “I’ve always taken pride in it that it is all clean music with positive messages and some upbeat, aggressive songs.”

Gearing his lyrics toward motivation, sports, holidays, and party hip hop, CPTime has found his niche and is testing the waters with “Home.” The single resembles a Justin-Bieber-type rap mixed with pop vibes. The track contains rap elements but has an upbeat pop jam going on.

“I rhyme in a positive but different way. I have various songs with a harder and more aggressive feel, but it’s a positive and clever message if you listen to the words,” CPTime said. “Most of my music is what I’d like to hear at a house party or sports event. I have the versatility as far as doing hip hop and higher energy stuff that pertains to many different crowds.”

“Home” is inspired by the meaning of a personal feeling of being at “Home,” whether that means being comfortable at a specific place, time, with a loved one, or by yourself. The music video was filmed at The Daniel Boone Homestead Historic Site by Luke O’Brien Creative.

“It’s just me and the camera going out there and showing off what I’m trying to portray,” CPTime said. “I’m having fun on my own, and I feel like it’s home.”

However, “Home” almost did not happen. CPTime credits his father for urging him to change his delivery and add more singing to his music. “My dad, Pops said that everybody likes the rap when he goes to the shows, but it would be nice to do something to stand out more and sing,” he explained.

While CPTime admits being a bit timid to put himself out there by singing, he acknowledges that “Home” is one of his favorites and most requested songs.

Growing up in the Pennsylvania suburbs, CPTime said he finds inspiration in life experiences, sports, and spending time with family and friends. “I’ve had a very blessed upbringing with great parents,” he said.

With a growing online presence, CPTime packs an entertaining live show. He has organized and hosted music showcases for fellow rising artists but is best known for his halftime performances during the Philadelphia 76ers games.

As a youth football coach, CPTime knows the importance of positively impacting the younger generation. He does it through his music when he is not on the field.

“What I’m doing is slightly different from the rest,” he said, referring to his profanity-free rap. “I want people to know that and see the message. I just want to entertain people. My message to everyone is not to be afraid to be yourself and different in whatever you’re doing in your life.”
