Artist Spotlight: InfamousMusik

InfamousMuzik is made up of the Las Vegas-based husband and wife duo Anton (Infamous) and Chandra (Muzik) White. And they’re on a mission: to bring to the world their vision of old school hip hop and passionate love.

In this exclusive Q&A, InfamousMusik opens up about the stories behind the music, lessons learned along the way, and what keeps their passion alive.

MusicsWeek: How has your relationship with music changed as your career has developed?

InfamousMusik:
Yes, as our career grows, music often becomes both art and work. That changes things in a few ways: We love creating and bringing new sound to the world, and doing it together as a husband-and-wife team is even better.

MusicsWeek: How do you typically move from an early idea to something that feels complete?

InfamousMusik:
Early stages are usually exploratory and fast. Later stages become more analytical, with tightening transitions, refining lyrics, adjusting dynamics, and improving pacing.

MusicsWeek: How do you know when a song has reached the point where it no longer needs anything added?

InfamousMusik:
When you stop hearing imperfections and hear more of the personality of a song, then you know it’s done. When you over-edit, it can erase the feeling from the song.

MusicsWeek: Have there been any recent shifts in the way you think about your sound or style?

InfamousMusik:
Early on in my career, there was often pressure to establish identity — something recognizable, cohesive, marketable, or technically impressive. Later, I’ve become more comfortable letting influences change naturally instead of protecting a fixed style.

MusicsWeek: How intentional are you about the emotional or sonic atmosphere of a release?

InfamousMusik:
We like to start with songs and get a vibe, then discover the atmosphere later. We like to get the feel of the song first.

MusicsWeek: What felt most important for you to express through your latest release?

InfamousMusik:
What matters most to us is not “saying” something directly, but creating a feeling the listener can live inside for a few minutes.

MusicsWeek: How did the process behind this project differ from your earlier work?

InfamousMusik:
Our earlier work was shaped by influences and comparison. Our new project today felt freer and more emotional because we no longer needed to fit a fixed image or genre — we can do them all.

MusicsWeek: Is there a particular song on the project that feels especially significant to you?

InfamousMusik:
Yes, “If Yuh Feel Like” is our introduction to the world on this music journey as a husband-and-wife duo. The feeling and love that went into this song exudes fun, excitement, and we just love sharing it with everyone.

MusicsWeek: What do you hope listeners notice or connect with most on this release?

InfamousMusik:
We want the listeners to vibe, get up, dance, and have fun. We want the listeners to go and listen to our other projects and vibe.

MusicsWeek: What are you most interested in exploring next, creatively or sonically?

InfamousMusik:
We want to explore our creativity more by collaborating with other artists, traveling and performing worldwide. We want to be on the Billboard charts doing this music full-time and bringing smiles to our fans.
