MusicWeek Staff: What is your process in composing your song? Lovince McKenzie: Sometimes I would work on beats from my favorite producers then head over to the studio and record but most times we get everything made from scratch and record in real time.
What was the defining moment when you knew you were meant to create music? Lovince McKenzie: My defining moment in my musical journey started by singing along to my idols, notably Akon while in middle school in Kenya. I poured my heart into singing Akon's tracks. Eventually, I started writing my own songs, and the transition from hobbyist to dedicated artist was a natural progression.
MusicWeek Staff: What story behind the song "I Know You Know”? Lovince McKenzie: "I Know You Know" is about that life partner that just gets it. It's about this kind of relationship and the beauty that comes out of knowing your partner so intimately.
MusicWeek Staff: How did you describe your process of creating "I Know You Know" compared to your other song? Lovince McKenzie: The song was created on location in Lagos Nigeria and my inspiration was ''Calm Down'' by Rema and Selena Gomez. I needed something —effortless yet captivating, universally appealing, yet authentic. The producers perfectly translated my vision into reality." Big shoutout to Boyredeem and Yung Willis in Nigeria.

MusicWeek Staff: With every project comes a challenge, Can you tell us a time were you faces obstacles when creating this music video? How did you handle it? Lovince McKenzie: We wanted something simple but exciting with excellent cinematography, so we opted to go for a very long shot throughout the video.
