MusicsWeek: What inspires you when creating new music and how do you approach the songwriting process?
Mundane Miracle: A lot of experimentation and repetition. I might try a few sounds, let them play on repeat, and add or remove sounds as I go until it sounds right.
MusicsWeek: How has your music evolved since you first started and what key experiences have shaped your artistic journey?
Mundane Miracle: I started with very experimental song structures and rough sounds that I really enjoyed. I am now trying to refine as I go to allow access to a wider audience without compromising the general song flow that I love.
MusicsWeek: What are some of the most significant challenges you've faced in the music industry and how have you overcome them?
Mundane Miracle: Still a work in process! Trying to find a steady audience without touring has been a challenge.
MusicsWeek: Can you share an experience where collaboration with another artist enhanced your work? What did you learn from that process?
Mundane Miracle: I used the site sound better to hire a rapper, Athena G, to write some verses to go with a rap hook I developed a few years back under my old moniker. Also had Austin Leeds help produce the beats. The song turned out better than I could have imagined! The site was easy to use and let me realize I have a lot of options for help out there.
MusicsWeek: How do you prepare for live performances and what do you enjoy most about connecting with your audience through your music?
Mundane Miracle: Still new here and no live performances yet, TBD!
MusicsWeek: Are there specific messages or themes you aim to convey through your music? How do you want your listeners to feel when they hear your songs?
Mundane Miracle: Waves of spine tingling joy
MusicsWeek: How do you feel the music industry has changed since you started and what impact do you think technology has had on artists today?
Mundane Miracle: Certainly an uncertain time, too early to tell for sure.
MusicsWeek: Can you give us a sneak peek into any upcoming projects or collaborations you're currently working on?
Mundane Miracle: New single “Meat Cute” will be out when this is released. It’s a more upbeat and danceable lo-fi electro song. Have many more singles coming out the rest of the year, shooting to release every 2 months or so.
MusicsWeek: What role do your fans play in your music creation process and how do you like to engage with them beyond the music?
Mundane Miracle: Not too much at the current moment, looking to expand in the future.
MusicsWeek: What advice would you give to aspiring musicians trying to break into the industry? What lessons have you learned that you think are important to share?
Mundane Miracle: Still learning myself!
