MusicsWeek: When did you first realize you wanted to be a musician?
Monahlyan: I first realized I wanted to be a musician when I was a 4-year-old little girl singing in the backyard of my grandmother's house. I would sing high notes on a rock and pretend I was on a stage and the garden was my crowd.
MusicsWeek: What was the first song you ever wrote, and what inspired it?
Monahlyan: The first song I ever wrote was about being on a school bus. At the time Missy Elliot was hot on the radio, and her style in music influenced me into writing a song like her.

Monahlyan: My biggest musical influences are Sade, Ciara, and the Weeknd.
MusicsWeek: How do you balance your music career with your personal life, and what self-care practices do you prioritize?

MusicsWeek: What's the most inspiring thing that's happened to you in your music career?

MusicsWeek: What drives you to keep creating music even during challenging times?
Monahlyan: I always feel I have a story to tell and my job isn't done. I have so much exposure to music and I'm always around people who make wonderful music. So the influence is always there and tangible. When making music is available to me I naturally get pulled in and give in to the beat. I started coming up with creative ideas that I felt would complement the beat. Then go off of that.
