Robbie Williams looks to pen a hit for The Lottery Winners

The Lottery Winners have enlisted Robbie Williams to help them land a significant hit.

The pop group has already celebrated two UK number one albums, Anxiety Replacement Therapy in 2023 and KOKO in 2025. Still, Thom Rylance (vocals/guitar), Robert Lally (guitar/vocals), Katie Lloyd (bass/vocals), and Joe Singleton (drums) are eager to add a chart-topping single to their accomplishments.

Frontman Rylance told the Daily Star’s Wired column: “I’ve been writing with Robbie.

“To be completely open, the one thing we are still missing as a band is that massive hit song, and it is my absolute mission to make sure that happens.”

The You Again singer admitted he was blown away by Williams, 51, when they worked together in the studio.

Rylance said, “I don’t know how he does it. We’ll sit down, I’ll play a bit of music, and then he starts singing. But what he sings are these incredible lyrics that are sharp, funny, and perfectly rhymed, and it just flows straight from his head.”

Fresh from touring with the former Take That star, The Lottery Winners have announced a huge homecoming show at Leigh Sports Village Stadium in Greater Manchester on May 30, 2026.

Rylance confessed he is anxious about headlining the venue, where legends like Sir Elton John, 78, and Lionel Richie, 76, have already taken the stage.

He admitted: “I am petrified. I don’t know why we’re doing it.

“We’re idiots. We’re always too ambitious, we push ourselves too far for our own good sometimes.”

Despite the nerves, Rylance explained that performing in a stadium has been a dream since childhood.

He said: “My earliest memory of live music, even though it was on a VHS tape, was Queen at Wembley, and I thought that’s what every concert looked like.

“My gran Mavis used to sew me outfits like the ones Freddie wore. I had the yellow jacket, the white trousers with the red stripe, and I would dance around the living room pretending the carpet was Wembley Stadium.

“So I always pictured myself standing in a stadium singing to people, and this summer we’ve started doing that, but now I want to see our name right at the top of that poster.”
