Jane Remover Refuses to Play M3F Fest Alongside Temper City

Jane Remover is no longer listed among the performers at M3F Fest after calling on organisers to remove Israeli group Temper City from the event.

In an Instagram Stories post last month, the experimental musician warned festival promoters that they would not perform if the alternative rock trio remained on the bill.

Their objection concerned the band’s alleged connections to the Israel Defense Forces. “Yo, get that IDF band off the lineup or I’m not playing,” they wrote on August 5.

Based in Los Angeles, Temper City gained widespread attention with ‘Self Aware’, released earlier this year. The song became a major TikTok hit and reached Number One on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart.

Military service is compulsory for most Israeli citizens from age 18. According to Stereogum, Temper City singer Eytan Peled has previously discussed serving in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

An updated festival poster appeared a month after Jane Remover’s Instagram statement. Temper City remains among the advertised acts, while Jane Remover’s name has disappeared, with Flying Lotus now occupying the same position.

At the time of writing, neither artist had publicly addressed the revised bill. M3F had also offered no explanation for the poster change.

NME has contacted Temper City seeking a response.

The 2027 edition of M3F Fest is scheduled for March 5 and 6 at its regular location in Phoenix, Arizona.

Temper City will first appear at Austin City Limits next month. Meanwhile, Jane Remover’s US headline tour resumes in Minneapolis on September 15.
