Awake for Days is starting a new chapter with track “Heaven’s Favorite Sin”

Awake For Days is a five-piece modern metalcore band from the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, Italy. Over the years, the band has steadily built an international following through relentless touring, independent releases and a constantly evolving sound.

With frontman Lukas Moore now being the band’s producer, he and the rest of the members have reshaped their identity to maintain the authenticity and uniqueness that continues to set them apart. This evolution continues with the release of “Heaven’s Favorite Sin,” a track that captures Awake For Days at their most honest, ambitious and artistically free.

The track "Heaven's Favorite Sin” explores themes that resonate deeply with the world we're living in today. While many songs focus on personal experiences, Awake For Days chose to look outward, reflecting on the recurring patterns of conflict, division and the ways humanity learns to "justify" them. It's a subject the band felt they couldn't ignore.

"Wars, humanitarian crises, people forced to leave their homes, growing division between societies... these aren't isolated events, they're part of a pattern we've seen throughout history. 'Heaven's Favorite Sin' isn't about one country or one conflict. It's about how easily we learn to justify things that, at their core, should never become normal. As artists, we don't believe our role is to tell people what to think, but we do believe music can encourage people to stop, reflect and ask difficult questions.” Said Lukas.

Awake for Days was founded in 2013 by Lukas and since then has seen a multitude of changes. Some of these changes were natural and others were necessary but they all allowed the band to get to the point they are today.

"When we started this band, we were driven mostly by the excitement of writing music and getting the chance to tour the world. Over the years, both our songwriting and our perspective have naturally evolved. Even in our earlier material we explored subjects like depression, identity and personal struggles, but today we approach those themes with a different level of experience, reflection and awareness. I believe that when you choose to write about difficult subjects, you have a responsibility to treat them with honesty, respect and the right mindset." he said.

Creative freedom has become one of the foundations of Awake For Days, although it was something the band reached gradually over time. After many years of working within a shared creative process and eventually becoming fully independent, Awake For Days now guide every artistic decision internally, from songwriting to production.

"Looking back, we learned a tremendous amount from everyone we worked with over the years. Those experiences helped shape us into the musicians and songwriters we are today. But there comes a point when every band needs to take complete ownership of its own artistic vision. That's where we are now. Today every creative decision comes from within the band, and that freedom has completely changed the way we write, produce and express ourselves. You can hear that in Wake Up! and even more in Heaven's Favorite Sin. Those songs represent what Awake For Days sound like when we're simply being ourselves.” he said.

For Awake for Days, creating music is always a joint effort. Everyone contributes their ideas and everyone listens to what everyone has to say. Lukas explained that he naturally wanted talented musicians in the band but he also wanted people who had good hearts. He enjoys how making music with them is like making music with family and since the band members make their way to the merch booth after performances to meet their listeners, they are a part of the family too.

“The audience can see there is real friendship amongst the band members. They can see the synergy, the fun and the real love amongst everyone. We all have the same goal to give the audience a great show and they are counting on us to do that for them.” he said.
