Rihanna is reportedly back in the studio “creating” new music.
Fans have waited a decade for the 38 year old singer to release a follow up to her 2016 album Anti. Now her partner, 37 year old rapper A$AP Rocky, has suggested that a new record may finally be coming.
During the latest episode of The Jason Lee Show, the Praise the Lord (Da Shine) rapper dismissed claims that he, their sons RZA, four, and Riot, three, their 10 month old daughter Rocki, and Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty businesses had caused the delay.
Responding to the speculation, Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, said: “No, that is not true. She is actually in the studio at this very moment. There, I have revealed it. Forgive me, babe.
“Seriously, she is working and putting something together. I am definitely going to be in trouble for sharing this.”
Rihanna surprised fans during Jay-Z’s concert at Yankee Stadium on July 12 by joining him for performances of Run This Town and B**** Better Have My Money.
The appearance was her first time performing onstage since headlining the Super Bowl halftime show at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, in 2023.
The New York crowd erupted when Rihanna unexpectedly appeared during the already impressive concert.
At one point, however, the Umbrella singer admitted to the audience: “You all realise I am out of practice, right? It has been quite some time. Are you still here with me?”
Rihanna’s partner, A$AP Rocky, also appeared with Jay-Z to perform Fkin’ Problems.
In August 2025, the Diamonds singer shared an emotional message for her fans to celebrate 20 years since the arrival of her debut album, Music of the Sun.
Opening the lengthy message on social media, Rihanna wrote: “Two decades ago, I said goodbye to my home country, traditions, favourite foods and family to begin an adventure that started when I released my first collection of songs.”
The nine time Grammy winner also posted a montage highlighting major moments from her career, including successful singles and achievements in fashion. The footage showed her journey from a leading music artist to a billionaire entrepreneur through her Fenty beauty and fashion empire.
She continued: “Many of you have supported my life and career from the very start, while others became part of this experience later. I will always be thankful for every one of you.
“You have each contributed something important to everything this journey has brought me so far. I simply wanted to use this opportunity to express my gratitude.”
Paying tribute to her devoted fanbase, known as the Navy, she added: “Twenty years with the most committed and protective supporters anyone could ever ask for.
“Twenty years of dedication and incredible teams working beside me, twenty years of learning, twenty years filled with memorable moments and achievements, and twenty years of my family remaining my greatest source of support.”
She also thanked the people within the music industry who supported her before doing so became fashionable.
Rihanna concluded: “I owe every one of you two decades of gratitude. I am thankful to God for blessing me so generously, and all the praise belongs to Him.”
