Music's Week: What inspired you to start making music, and what drives you to continue creating?

Agajuan: Music has always been apart of my life from a young boy. Both my grandfathers on my mother’s and father’s side of the family can sing including my mom which was then passed down to me and I grew up singing in church. Whenever I would hear music on the radio I always knew that I wanted my voice and sound to be heard as well! What drives me to continue creating is that I’m most expressive through my channel of music; I get to story tell and evoke emotions! And my supporters fuel me and I always promise to make the little boy inside of me proud!

Music's Week: How do you approach songwriting? Do you have a specific process or method that works for you?

Agajuan: I usually hum or mumble a melody over the track and gather my words after I like to incorporate different elements that each music listener can appreciate.

Music's Week: What's your favorite song you've written, and why is it special to you?

Agajuan: My favorite song I’ve written is called “Utopia” it isn’t out yet! But it will be soon. It’s special because it talks about my growth as a person and having someone along the way to do that with.

Music's Week: Can you tell us about your favorite collaboration or project you've worked on? What made it stand out to you?

Agajuan: So I am working on a few collaborative projects right now that are in development and to be honest all of them I’m really excited about because I get to add my spin and flare to their art! And each of these are very different sounds and I get to be a chameleon but still stay true to myself as an artist.

Music's Week: What's the most challenging part of being a musician in your opinion, and how do you overcome those challenges?

Agajuan: Maintaining relationships and a stable personal life can be challenging due to the demands of the profession, including touring and irregular schedules.

Resource Management: Many musicians struggle with the logistics of funding, producing, and distributing their music, especially when starting out with limited resources.

I overcome these challenges by doing my part and doing the best that I can do to combat them. Nothing comes easy but we have to fight hard for what we want!

Music's Week: How do you balance your creative vision with the demands of the music industry? Do you have any advice for up-and-coming artists on this topic?

Agajuan: Keeping up with industry trends and maintaining relevance in a rapidly changing music landscape requires continuous adaptation and evolution. So I try to evolve with the times without loosing important elements of myself.

An advice I’d have for upcoming artists is don’t let anyone dictate your art! Stand your ground.

Music's Week: Who are some of your biggest influences, and how have they shaped your music and style?

Agajuan: My major influences like frank ocean, sza, Tyler the creator, Andre 3000, Jazmine Sullivan to name a few are some of the inspirations that has influenced my style of non traditional Bahamian music with having a unique knack for creating detailed worlds within my releases. Informed by my vulnerable pen, I candidly paint my coming-of-age journey as I grow into the prolific artist I know I can be.

Music's Week: What's your favorite album or song of all time, and why does it hold a special place in your heart?

Agajuan: It’ll have to be between SZA’s CTRL or Frank Ocean’s Blond album, because they both created something so unique the imagery in the words and storytelling of the whole collective piece was just pure art and I can sit and listen from top to bottom.

Music's Week: Can you walk us through your creative process when it comes to writing a new song? Do you have any specific rituals or habits that help spark inspiration?

Agajuan: I like to write in sentences

And I like to break down and get a little technical with metaphors and stuff like that to get my listeners to think and engage

I can usually sit in front of my laptop with my headphones on and the magic happens!

Music's Week: What's next for you? Do you have any upcoming projects or tours that you're excited about?

Agajuan: After solar I have plans to begin my first extensive project piece which will be an E.P expected to be released for early next year hopefully I’ll be touring then. and after that an album!

I’ll also be more experimental in my photography exploring new ideas and techniques.
