Exclusive Interview with Anubis Wolf

MusicsWeek: When did you first realize you wanted to be a musician?

Anubis Wolf:
My journey into music started almost by chance. While I was initially into graffiti art, I soon realized that every piece of art needed a sound. Music chose me as much as I chose it, during those days blending colors on canvases I found at yard sales.

MusicsWeek: What was the first song you ever wrote, and what inspired it?

Anubis Wolf:
The first track I ever laid down was a lo-fi beat called 'Daydream in Blue'. Inspired by the serene, almost hypnotic state of daydreaming, I wanted to capture that feeling of floating through thoughts as easily as clouds drift across the sky.

MusicsWeek: What challenges did you face early in your career, and how did you overcome them?

Anubis Wolf:
Early on, blending my love for art and music was challenging. I had to learn how to capture visual emotions in sound—essentially painting with music notes. It took trial and error, but now my tracks weave these elements seamlessly.

MusicsWeek: What’s the most significant change you’ve seen in yourself since starting your music career?

Anubis Wolf:
The biggest change has been my approach to creativity. I’ve become more introspective, using music as a tool to explore and express the inner mechanics of emotion and thought.

MusicsWeek: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

Anubis Wolf:
When I’m not in the studio, you can find me in nature or at local art shows. These moments away are where I recharge and find new inspirations to bring back to my music.

MusicsWeek: Can you walk us through your typical songwriting process?

Anubis Wolf:
Each track starts with a vibe or a feeling I want to convey. From there, I layer beats and synths, each addition building on the last until the sound matches the emotion. It’s like sculpting air with rhythm and mood.

MusicsWeek: Where do you find inspiration for your lyrics and melodies?

Anubis Wolf:
Inspiration strikes every day—simple moments, overheard conversations, and even the rhythmic patterns of the city can spark a melody. I tune into the world’s natural rhythm and let it guide the music.

MusicsWeek: How do you handle criticism and feedback on your music?

Anubis Wolf:
I welcome it. Every piece of feedback is a chance to refine my craft. Whether it’s praise or critique, it all helps me tune my work more finely.

MusicsWeek: How do you measure success in your career?

Anubis Wolf:
Success for me isn’t just about streams or sales; it’s about connection. If my music can alter someone’s mood, inspire creativity, or simply be the backdrop to a moment in their life, that’s a success.

MusicsWeek: How do you engage with your fans online and offline?

Anubis Wolf:
Engagement is all about authenticity. Online, I share snippets of my process, and offline, I try to connect at shows and events. It’s about creating a community around the vibes we share.
