The newly announced list of Grammy nominees has been described by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) as a “powerful reminder” of the global influence and economic strength of British music. The nominations reflect a thriving new generation of talent standing alongside the UK’s most celebrated artists.

Showcasing Britain’s growing presence on the world stage, both Olivia Dean and Lola Young earned nominations for the coveted Best New Artist award. Their achievements highlight a new wave of UK creativity, which can be seen across several genres featured in this year’s lineup.

The nominations spotlight emerging British acts such as PinkPantheress, FLO, Sleep Token, and Yungblud, who have gained recognition across rock, pop, dance, and progressive R&B categories. They share the spotlight with acclaimed names like Wet Leg, FKA Twigs, and Fred Again.., while legendary figures including Elton John and The Cure continue to represent the UK’s enduring excellence. Jacob Collier also added to his record, earning his 16th Grammy nomination.

The announcement comes as Olivia Dean continues to find success in the United States, with her single Man I Need and her album The Art Of Loving performing strongly on the charts. Her recognition follows a string of international breakthroughs for British artists throughout 2025.

Reacting to the impressive Grammy turnout, Sophie Jones, Chief Strategy Officer at the BPI, said, “The brilliant showing of British artists... is a potent reminder of the immense cultural reach and economic power of British music – one of the crown jewels of our £125 billion-per-year creative industries.”

Jones also noted that this success comes at a significant time, as conversations around copyright and artificial intelligence continue to shape the industry. She added that maintaining “the continued growth and stability” of the music sector should remain “high on the Government’s agenda next year, and a priority for us all,” underscoring the importance of protecting human creativity.
