Artist Spotlight: Gary Barve
A relative newcomer to recording and publishing music, with no formal music coaching to speak of, Gary Barve isn’t letting that stop him.
In this exclusive Q&A, Gary Barve opens up about the stories behind the music, lessons learned along the way, and what keeps their passion alive.
MusicsWeek: When did you first realize you wanted to be a musician?
Gary Barve: I have been a passionate music and song lover for about 30 years, and I am 41 years old, so for a large part of my life. I am a big believer in having big, bold, positive, productive dreams, and taking action to reach those dreams. In 2025, I started releasing music videos on my social media via the awesome Smule app. In about October 2025, I decided to see if I am any good at singing and went to The Wall Of Sound Productions Recording Studio in the great state of Iowa to record multiple guitar or piano-based-only vocal cover songs, and released them worldwide on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal and more channels. My songs have played on radio stations in Miami, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles in the United States of America and on radio stations in Sweden, England, Columbia, Spain and more countries. I heard Hollywood Superstar Ryan Seacrest played my song on the radio in New York and Los Angeles.
MusicsWeek: How do you handle criticism and feedback on your music?
Gary Barve: Since my name recognition across the world as a prominent and successful music artist is growing (and I am happy to say that it seems to be growing fast), due to the relatively early stage of this growth trajectory, I have not received any real substantial negative criticism for any of the 5 cover songs that I have released worldwide: Perfect from Ed Sheeran, Hero from Enrique Iglesias, Cant Help Falling In Love & Unchained Melody from Elvis Presley and Fix You from Coldplay. I have received positive feedback on air and off air from show hosts, friends and supporters, and I am happy for it. I will certainly receive criticism at some point – it is part of putting yourself out there, taking calculated risks and wise relatively reckless risks to go fearlessly after one's big, bold, positive, productive dreams. One of the ways I would respond to the criticism is with consistent, massive, undeniable success.
MusicsWeek: What’s the most challenging aspect of being a song artist?
Gary Barve: Being a musician is a great honor and a privilege for me; it is not a challenge for me to be a musician. Music and singing are my creative art forms that bring a lot of happiness to my life.
I LOVE MUSIC, as my Swedish friend DJ Josebo would say.
MusicsWeek: How did the process of creating your latest project differ from your previous work?
Gary Barve: My most recent cover song that got released worldwide on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, and more channels is Unchained Melody, originally sung and made eternal by the one and only King of Music and the American Music Legend Elvis Presley. My cover song Unchained Melody is a 6 Minute version. I sang passionately from my heart at The Wall Of Sound Productions recording studio in the great state of Iowa, with no predefined musical arrangement in mind, and the recording session for Unchained Melody was for about 30 minutes. To answer the question more directly, one of the ways the process was different for this song was that the emotions came through in my voice and vocals perhaps more emphatically than they did during some of my previous recording sessions.
MusicsWeek: Were there any unexpected challenges you faced while working on this project?
Gary Barve: Yes, certainly. There are always challenges that one faces when trying to achieve a certain goal or objective. Usually, conquering the challenge can be fun and exciting in itself.
MusicsWeek: How do you handle writer’s block or creative slumps?
Gary Barve: I have not really had to face this situation as of today, per my memory. All 5 songs that I have released thus far are cover songs sung by some of the most successful and prominent music sensations in the world, so I have not had to write my own music yet. I am going to try and write my own music in the year 2026, perhaps in collaboration with another music artist.
I am a complete outsider when it comes to the music industry, and I have no formal music coaching to speak of, so the entire process is new to me. My main focus is my campaign for President of the United States of America in the 2028 election as a Republican supporter of our President Donald J. Trump and as a believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
I am also working towards my first Hollywood Movie (I visited Hollywood a few days back) and my entrepreneurship goal of starting my first luxury sweet perfume for women and strength cologne for men line, most probably named The President From Gary Barve. The Hollywood Movie production should hopefully start in the first few months of the year 2026, and the perfume and cologne line will be available nationwide soon. I am also promoting my first published book, One Nation Under God, available worldwide on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Apple iBooks. I am an outsider in each of these endeavours, too.
MusicsWeek: What comes first for you: the music or the lyrics?
Gary Barve: This is a fantastic question! It really depends on my mood and my state of mind when I turn on the music. It also depends on the genre of music, the tune of the song, how the melody of the specific song resonates with me, the artist and the artist's personality, and the meaning of the lyrics of the particular song. That said, until 2025, when I started recording my own cover songs, most of the time I focused more on the melody and the music than on the lyrics. This holds true today, too, but to a slightly lesser extent.
MusicsWeek: How do you know when a song is truly finished?
Gary Barve: In the real world, there are many factors to consider, such as, for example, monetary budget and time constraints. But on a purely musical and artistic perfection perspective, the song should feel right and resonate in synchrony with my gut instinct and musical creative and artistic sense, to know and to believe that the song is ready.
MusicsWeek: What’s the most significant change you’ve seen in yourself since starting your music career?
Gary Barve: I have slowly begun to realize that I am a talented musician and a good, perhaps even at some point, a great singer. There is always room for improvement, learning and growing as an artist and as a person is a continuous process.
MusicsWeek: What accomplishment in your career are you most proud of?
Gary Barve: There are a few:
- I became a believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior: I respect all religions, but I am a Christian
- I successfully and strongly conquered some horrific, bad, awful dark challenges and struggles in my life, such as the former clinical depression related illness (this diagnosis was a long time back, about 13 years back) and made a complete recovery
- I found President Donald J. Trump's inspirational books, videos and interviews and decided to follow his teachings mentioned in his incredible book Think Big, which, in my opinion, is the greatest book ever written after The Bible. And I say this even though I am a published author of my book, One Nation Under God, available worldwide.
- I decided to officially run for President of The United States of America in the 2028 election as a Republican supporter of our President Donald J. Trump and as a believer in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior with the humble goal to Save America and to serve our great American people, and I have had the honor and opportunity to interview with about 40 to 45 patriotic media networks in The United States of America reaching millions and millions of patriotic American people.
- President Donald J. Trump (I have met with him at Trump International Golf Club, and I have been to Mar-a-Lago a few times) is my desired Vice President pick, and in my opinion, this 2028 Republican Presidential Ticket will happen
- I realized that I am a creative person with an interest in book writing, music and singing, acting in Hollywood movies, and I have positive entrepreneurial prowess and capability
- I am the unequivocally best Presidential candidate interview in the United States of America, and the most courageous person on the planet on the political stage
